James Fox is an artist from Glasgow, Scotland. He graduated with a first class degree from Goldsmiths College, London, where he studied alongside fellow artists such as Damien Hirst, Gary Hume and Sarah Lucas.
James' work strives to convey ideas and questions about our expectations regarding gender roles, work, culture and other aspect of our social and personal lives. Using machine embroidary and reverse appliqué techniques, he seeks to juxtapose pattern with theme in an incongruous and sometimes ironic manner.
James has exhibited and sold nationally and internationally, most recently in:
- Waterside Arts Centre, Manchester
- Museum de Kantfabriek, Netherlands
- Petit echo de la Mode Museum, Chatelaudren, France
- Jonkoping Lans museum, Sweden.
- Gallery 23, Lancaster. Group exhibition.
